Interpreting environment in the widest sense of the word, TCT considers traffic improving works as one of its tasks: Well functioning traffic leads to much higher mobility of the population, less accidents, more comfort, and lower environmental impact, all of which eventually lead to an improved economy and better standards of life.

Large and dense cities need alternative solutions to improve traffic flows, hence TCT has been running Light Rail System projects in Istanbul and Ankara.

In Izmir, TCT has set up a pilot where public transportation efficiency is improved through state of art GPS, which in the meanwhile monitors the drivers’ driving style.

Unfortunately, in terms of traffic safety, Turkey is the most unsafe country in Europe, as shows the dramatic mortality rates in traffic.

TCT makes big efforts to point to the importance of good traffic safety awareness, and has been developing various programs, involving children from young age onwards.
